About New Mom Talk (previously Mama Wears Athleisure)
As a new mom, keeping a little human alive consumed my time. I found myself constantly googling, even now, wishing for a mama podcast that could give me bite-sized info on everything I searched for in short episodes. Something I could listen to while grabbing coffee or brushing my teeth. Although many great podcasts exist, none quite fit my needs.

About Me
Hi, I'm Mariela, a new mom to my 2-year-old son Luciano – the inspiration behind this new mom podcast and my Carlsbad Mom Walks group, a valuable new mom resource.
In June 2020, my husband and I relocated from San Francisco to sunny San Diego, which we absolutely love. Our family also includes two boxer pups, 8 month-old Solana and 3-year-old Luka.
Before becoming a mother, I worked as a special education teacher and fitness instructor, teaching yoga, barre, TRX, kickboxing, bootcamp and Pilates classes. Juggling motherhood with my passions for education and wellness sparked the idea for this best mom podcast and community to support other new moms.
